For local hosts

A clear listing.
A warmer welcome.

Give a first-time visitor enough information to decide, register and arrive with confidence.

Tell people who the event is for.

Use a title that describes the gathering and an introduction that explains its purpose. Say whether the audience is broad or focused on a particular industry, career stage or type of business. Avoid assuming readers already know your organization.

Describe the format: a presentation, small-group discussion, structured introductions or informal conversation. This helps visitors understand what participation will feel like.

Answer the practical questions.

  • The date, start and end times, and whether it repeats.
  • The venue, full address and any special entrance or parking instructions.
  • The admission price or an explicit note when the price is not provided.
  • Whether guests are welcome, approval is required or membership is necessary.
  • The correct registration destination and any capacity limit.

Keep the promise small and accurate.

Describe what the organizer will provide, rather than promising leads, sales or a particular number of connections. Do not claim that a sponsor or participant endorses the event without their agreement.

If details change, use your organizer tools to update the listing or meeting date. Some changes require review. Keep an independent plan for communicating urgent changes because automatic event-change emails are not yet available.

Read it as a first-time visitor.

Before submitting, ask whether someone could find the venue, understand eligibility and register without sending you another question. Preview the saved draft and check the details before requesting publication.

If the event belongs to an ongoing group, keep its group listing current too. Dated events and a group description answer different questions.
